VIEW AVAILABILITY & BOOK ONLINE
Bull Hill, also known as Mount Taurus, is a fun and moderately challenging loop hike in the Hudson Highlands, with great views of the Hudson River and West Point. The hike begins on a wide gravel path that leads to a unique area, which was once an old rock quarry. The trail climbs gradually along a steep, but well maintained trail for the first two miles, with rewarding views above the quarry and of the Hudson River Valley below. After gaining the ridge, there are many places to stop and enjoy the scenery. The terrain is less rocky and the slope is more gentle for the descent along the Breakneck Brook, which leads to interesting ruins from the Cornish estate. This hike typically takes about 4 hours.

Little Stony Point

After returning to the parking lot, for those who want to continue with a short “bonus hike,” we can explore the sandy beaches of Little Stony Point, a small park conveniently located right across the street. There is about a 1-mile trail with great views from the river banks and atop a small hill in the middle of the peninsula.
