360 Guiding Policies
Health & Safety Plan - COVID-19 Prevention
As guides and outdoor professionals, risk management is what we do, and your health and safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe and fun experience outdoors while adhering to proper hygiene and social distancing recommendations. This policy will evolve as time goes on and as we continue to monitor local public health recommendations, but what won’t change is our commitment to keeping you safe. Following CDC and state-issued industry guidelines, we have implemented the following protocols and special measures:
SOCIAL DISTANCING
* 360 Guiding offers secure and touchless transactions with online and phone bookings.
* We still provide snacks, water, and all meals for backpacking trips, but guests may bring their own if preferred.
* Guests are not required to wear a mask while hiking.
*Face coverings may be required when entering buildings or vehicles, so you should have one with you.
* Acceptable face coverings include but are not limited to a buff, bandana or surgical mask.
STRINGENT CLEANING
* Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available for all guests.
* 360 Guiding will conduct regular cleaning and disinfection of all rental equipment (e.g. trekking poles and camping gear) at least after every trip and more frequently as needed.
* You're welcome to bring and use your own equipment if you have it.
* Guides will sanitize hands regularly, especially before handling food items.
* Camp kitchen and food prep items may be handled only by crew members.
* Please only use biodegradable soap and take care not to contaminate water sources.
WELLNESS CHECKS
* Clients who have (1) COVID-19 symptoms in past 14 days, (2) positive COVID-19 test in past 14 days, and/or (3) close contact with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in past 14 days, are asked to postpone their trip until they are symptom free and cleared by their physician to participate.
* Guides or guests should return home if they are symptomatic or become ill. (Subject to temperature checks.)
* Employees who present with COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home to contact their health care provider for medical assessment and COVID-19 testing. If tested positive, employee may only return after completing a 14-day quarantine.
OTHER IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
* There are very limited or no restroom facilities – please plan accordingly.
* Trails may temporarily close or have reduced parking capacity.
* Trailhead parking is limited, and parking lots fill early, especially on weekends.
* Guests should be prepared to visit nearby trails if lots are full.

Cancellation Policy
Our hikes are Rain or Shine. In the event we need to cancel or reschedule an activity, you will be notified ASAP and issued a full refund.
If you cancel at least 10 days prior to the start of a trip, a full refund will be given.
Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior will receive a 50% refund.
Sorry, no refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.
The guide reserves the right to cancel, reroute, or reschedule any activity in consideration of participant abilities and conditions, weather conditions, general safety, and/or route access.
We understand that given the risks of COVID-19, your travel plans may need to change. Please reschedule your hike if you are symptomatic, or have been in contact with a person who is known to be COVID-19 positive in the last 14 days.
If you cancel at least 10 days prior to the start of a trip, a full refund will be given.

IN THE EVENT OF DESTRUCTION, LOSS OR THEFT OF YOUR RENTED GEAR, YOU AGREE THAT WE MAY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD UP TO THE MANUFACTURER’S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE OF THE RENTED ITEM.
We encourage clients to use their own gear whenever possible. 360 Guiding provides rental gear for guided trips at no additional charge, and does not charge a security deposit.
You are responsible for gear returned with damages in excess of normal wear and tear. Examples of such damages include but are not limited to punctures, tears, stains, or missing components. Normal wear and tear shall include minor scrapes, abrasions, or evidence of use consistent with responsible use of the rental gear. If you return damaged gear you will only be charged for the cost of repairs. Release of Liability Waiver
In consideration of the risk of injury while participating in Hiking, Camping and Backpacking (the "Activity"), and as consideration for the right to participate in the Activity, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, or personal representatives,knowingly and voluntarily enter into this waiver and release of liability and hereby waive any and all rights, claims or causes of action of any kind whatsoever arising out of my participation in the Activity, and do hereby release and forever discharge360 Guiding located at 120 Beverly Rd, Mount Kisco, NY 10549, their affiliates, managers, members, agents, attorneys, staff, volunteers, heirs, representatives, predecessors, successors and assigns, for any physical or psychological injury, including but not limited to illness, paralysis, death, damages, economical or emotional loss, that I may suffer as a direct result of my participation in the aforementioned Activity, including traveling to and from an event related to this Activity. I AM VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THE AFOREMENTIONED ACTIVITY AND I AM PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITY ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK. I AM AWARE OF THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAVELING TO AND FROM AS WELL AS PARTICIPATING IN THIS ACTIVITY, WHICH MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, PHYSICAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY, PAIN, SUFFERING, ILLNESS, DISFIGUREMENT, TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT DISABILITY (INCLUDING PARALYSIS), ECONOMIC OR EMOTIONAL LOSS, AND DEATH. I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE INJURIES OR OUTCOMES MAY ARISE FROM MY OWN OR OTHERS' NEGLIGENCE, CONDITIONS RELATED TO TRAVEL, OR THE CONDITION OF THE ACTIVITY LOCATION(S). NONETHELESS, I ASSUME ALL RELATED RISKS, BOTH KNOWN OR UNKNOWN TO ME, OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS ACTIVITY, INCLUDING TRAVEL TO, FROM AND DURING THIS ACTIVITY. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless 360 Guiding against any and all claims, suits or actions of any kind whatsoever for liability, damages, compensation or otherwise brought by me or anyone on my behalf, including attorney's fees and any related costs, if litigation arises pursuant to any claims made by me or by anyone else acting on my behalf. If 360 Guiding incurs any of these types of expenses, I agree to reimburse 360 Guiding. I acknowledge that 360 Guiding and their directors, officers, volunteers, representatives and agents are not responsible for errors, omissions, acts or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific event or activity on behalf of 360 Guiding.I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS ACTIVITY MAY INVOLVE A TEST OF A PERSON'S PHYSICAL AND MENTAL LIMITS AND MAY CARRY WITH IT THE POTENTIAL FOR DEATH, SERIOUS INJURY, AND PROPERTY LOSS. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, lack of hydration, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic and actions of others, including but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches, event officials and event monitors, and/or producers of the event.I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS "WAIVER AND RELEASE" AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY. I am aware and understand that I should carry my own health insurance.In the event that any damage to equipment or facilities occurs as a result of my or my family's willful actions, neglect or recklessness, I acknowledge and agree to be held liable for any and all costs associated with any actions of neglect or recklessness.This Agreement was entered into at arm's-length, without duress or coercion, and is to be interpreted as an agreement between two parties of equal bargaining strength. Both the Participant, and 360 Guiding agree that this Agreement is clear and unambiguous as to its terms, and that no other evidence will be used or admitted to alter or explain the terms of this Agreement, but that it will be interpreted based on the language in accordance with the purposes for which it is entered into.In the event that any provision contained within this Release of Liability shall be deemed to be severable or invalid, or if any term, condition, phrase or portion of this agreement shall be determined to be unlawful or otherwise unenforceable, the remainder of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect, so long as the clause severed does not affect the intent of the parties. If a court should find that any provision of this agreement to be invalid or unenforceable, but that by limiting said provision it would become valid and enforceable, then said provision shall be deemed to be written, construed and enforced as so limited.

NYS RULES AND REGULATIONS
• Camping is prohibited within 150 feet of any road, trail, spring, stream, pond or other body of water except at areas designated by a “camp here” disk.
• Groups of ten or more persons OR stays of more than three days in one place require a permit from the New York State Forest Ranger responsible for the area.
• Use pit privies provided near popular camping areas and trailheads. If none are available, dispose of human waste by digging a hole 6″-8″ deep at least 150 feet from water or campsites. Cover with leaves and soil.
• Do not use soap to wash yourself, clothing or dishes within 150 ft of water.
• Drinking and cooking water should be boiled for 5 minutes, treated with purifying tablets or filtered through filtration device to prevent instances of giardia infection. (360 Guiding uses 0.1 micron Sawyer filters, which removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, and E.coli, and removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.)
• Fires should be built in existing fire pits or fireplaces if provided. Use only dead and down wood for fires.
• Cutting standing trees is prohibited.
• Extinguish all fires with water and stir ashes until they are cold to the touch. Do not build fires in areas marked by a “No Fires” disk. Camp stoves are safer, more efficient and cleaner.
• Carry out what you carry in. Practice “leave no trace” camping and hiking.
• Keep your pet under control. Your pet must be on a leash at all times. Collect and bury droppings away from water, trails and camp sites. Keep your pet away from drinking water sources.
• Observe and enjoy wildlife and plants but leave them undisturbed.
Removing plants, rocks, fossils or artifacts from state land without a permit is illegal.
• The storage of personal property on state land is prohibited.
Carry an approved personal flotation device (pfd) for each person aboard all watercraft.
• Except in an emergency or between December 15th and April 30th, camping is prohibited above an elevation of 4,000 feet in the Adirondacks and above an elevation of 3,500 feet in the Catskills.
• At all times, only emergency fires are permitted above 4,000 feet in the Adirondacks.
• Groups of ten or more persons OR stays of more than three days in one place require a permit from the New York State Forest Ranger responsible for the area.

• Drinking and cooking water should be boiled for 5 minutes, treated with purifying tablets or filtered through filtration device to prevent instances of giardia infection. (360 Guiding uses 0.1 micron Sawyer filters, which removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, and E.coli, and removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium.)
• Fires should be built in existing fire pits or fireplaces if provided. Use only dead and down wood for fires.
• Cutting standing trees is prohibited.
• Extinguish all fires with water and stir ashes until they are cold to the touch. Do not build fires in areas marked by a “No Fires” disk. Camp stoves are safer, more efficient and cleaner.
• Carry out what you carry in. Practice “leave no trace” camping and hiking.
• Keep your pet under control. Your pet must be on a leash at all times. Collect and bury droppings away from water, trails and camp sites. Keep your pet away from drinking water sources.
• Observe and enjoy wildlife and plants but leave them undisturbed.
Removing plants, rocks, fossils or artifacts from state land without a permit is illegal.
• The storage of personal property on state land is prohibited.
Carry an approved personal flotation device (pfd) for each person aboard all watercraft.
• Except in an emergency or between December 15th and April 30th, camping is prohibited above an elevation of 4,000 feet in the Adirondacks and above an elevation of 3,500 feet in the Catskills.
• At all times, only emergency fires are permitted above 4,000 feet in the Adirondacks.
