This 2 night backpacking trip provides the opportunity to visit the largest state park in the country, with access to some of the most remote wilderness areas in New York. Located in the West Canada Lakes Wilderness area of the Adirondack State Park, a 6 million acre "forever wild" forest preserve, this hike loops around several lakes, with beautiful lakeside campsites. We will see several pristine lakes with a high chance of viewing birds and wildlife in their natural setting.

The trail does not have too much elevation gain, but is sure to offer plenty of rugged varied terrain, from dirt and mud to rocks and boulders, with streams, rivers and lake outlets to cross on logs, stones, or bridges. It is a rather long hike, totaling over 21 miles with several side trails leading to lake shores and lean-tos.

Day 1
3:00pm Mountain Market to organize and pack gear & food
4:30pm Depart Trailhead. Hike 3.3 miles to lakeside campsite. Set up camp, and enjoy our first meal on the trail.

Day 2
8:00am Breakfast
9:00am Begin 10.5 mile hike around the lakes to another Adirondack lean-to. We'll stop for lunch along the way, and enjoy a hot meal for dinner at our campsite.

Day 3
7:00am Breakfast
8:00am Hike 7.5 miles to complete this awesome loop hike
12:30pm Return to vehicles / organize gear
​1:00pm Optional 3.2 mile hike to fire tower (About 2 hours round trip)
